Customs Appraisement-East collects Rs 23.9b in May

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-East collected Rs 23.936 billion in wake of duty/taxes during May of the current fiscal year 2016.

Sources told Customs Today that the Appraisement-East collected Rs 8.69 billion under the head of customs duty, Rs 11.101 billion under the head of sales tax, Rs 4.029 billion as income tax and Rs 117 million under head of federal excise duty (FED).

Significantly, it collected Rs 2.132 million on the last working day i.e. May 31, 2016 that included Rs 725 million under the head of customs duty; Rs 1.045 billion under head of sales tax; Rs 355 million as income tax and Rs 7 million as FED.

At all, it generated Rs 274.627 billion since July 1 to May 31, 2016 that included Rs 89.917 billion under the head of customs duty; Rs 138.395 billion as sales tax; Rs 45.046 billion as income tax and Rs 1.269 million under head of FED.
