Customs Appraisement East surpasses February’s assigned target

KARACHI: The Customs Appraisement East collected Rs 10.4 billion customs duty (CD) in February 2017. The department surpassed its assigned target with Rs 2.15 billion. The assigned target of the appraisement East for February was Rs 8.26 billion.

Sources at the Collectorate told Customs Today that the over-all tax and duty collection of the appraisement East in February was Rs 30.25 billion. The department collected Rs 10.41 billion customs duty, Rs 14.5 sales tax, Rs 5.2 billion income tax, and Rs 130 million federal excise duty during the above mentioned period.

Sources said that during first eight months (July-Feb) of FY2016-17 the department collected Rs 235 billion duty and taxes. Out of which, Rs 71.65 billion customs duty, Rs 98.54 billion sales tax, Rs 34.60 billion income tax and Rs 930 million federal excise duty were collected.
