Customs Appraisement Faisalabad posts 76 percent growth against allocated target

FAISALABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement generated Rs598.480million revenue during the first two weeks of December 2017 against the set target of Rs791.38million during the whole month of December thus surpassing it by 76 percent.

The Customs Appraisement collected revenue under the heads of customs duty (CD), sales tax (ST), income tax (IT) and federal excise duty (FED) during said period.

According to the statistics available with Customs Today, it received Rs160.431million as customs duty against the allocated target of Rs232.64million.

The collectorate got Rs434.384million against the earmarked target of Rs553.75million of sales tax and achieved 78 percent growth.

It generated Rs3.666million in the wake of income tax during said period against the assigned target of Rs4.98million and surpassed the allocated collection by 74 percent while the department has no collection in the wake of federal excise duty (FED).

Customs Appraisement Assistant Collector Ameer Ahmed says that the department has already issued notices to a number of tax defaulters in the recent months asking them to clear the outstanding taxes at the earliest to avoid stern action.
