Customs Appraisement issues notice to Digital World for recovery of dues

LAHORE: Customs Appraisement Dry Port Mughalpura Lahore has issued final notice to M/s Digital World Pakistan (Private) Limited for payment of tax dues.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs Preventive issued notices on default of Rs 2.9 million by M/s Digital World.  An amount of Rs 2.9 million is still pending against the company in the wake of arrears..

In their notice Customs Appraisement asked M/s Digital World has to pay their dues at the earliest otherwise according to sub section 2 of section 202 of the Customs Act 1969 strict action will be taken against the company. Customs authority can sale moveable and immovable properties of the party or can appoint receiver for management of the property to recover dues.

Customs has also said that in failure if submission of dues Customs can sale properties under recovery rule of 2001

.
