Customs Appraisement registers FIR against suspects for replacing high value goods

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Appraisement has registered another FIR against suspects for illegally replacing high value goods from a transshipment (TP) container with low value goods.

Sources said that Collector Mubashir Baig received credible information regarding replacement of high value goods with low value goods during transit at NLC Dry Port Mughalpura.

The container after entering in NLC Dry Port Mughalpura Lahore was thoroughly examined, and it was found that the container seal had been tampered with.

During initial investigations found the above mentioned accused cut the seal of the container during transit and replaced high tariff goods with low value goods as was declared in the Goods Declaration. After this illegal replacement the accused tactfully re-fixed the seal.

Sources said that further investigation are still underway till filing of this report.
