Customs Appraisement-West AIB recovers Rs 45 million during three months of 2015

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Appraisement-West Appraising Intelligence Branch (AIB) has made recovery of Rs 45 million in first three months of the year-2015, which is almost doubled than the corresponding period of the 2014.

This was stated by the authorities of AIB/R&D Section of while sharing their views with Customs Today.

Responding to a query, the authorities disclosed that the revenue recovery amounting to Rs 20 million approximately are in pending, adding that the intelligence branch will soon recover the pending amount by issuing demand notices to the defaulters in terms of short realisation of the government revenue.

The authorities further said that most of the revenue recoveries have been found in violation of SROs, application of incorrect valuation rulings and PCT headings.

They added that the Collector Muhammad Saleem has special emphasized on revenue recovery and the AIB/R&D Section has special directives from the Collector side that to ensure outmost revenue recovery by the end of third quarters of the fiscal year2014-15.

They further said that the Collector-Muhammad Saleem and other authorities concerned are highly eager and taking keen interest in recovering the leaking amount from the defaulters and also seeking routine updates over the recovery scenario on daily basis.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Collector-MCC Appraisement West Muhammad Saleem has already made it clear that the Collectorate will recover every single penny of the governmental revenue from the defaulters and leave no stone unturned in this regard.

It may also be mentioned here that the all concerned authorities of the Collectorate are on feet in order to comply the directives of the Collector in connection with the revenue recovery and the recovery campaign gets momentum with every passing day which depicts positive approach of the authorities concerned of the Collectorate.
