Customs Appraisement West collects Rs 20.414b taxes, duties during July 2016

KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate Appraisement West has collected Rs 20.414 billion taxes and duties under various heads in the month of July 2016.

According to sources, the Customs Appraisement West has collected a total of Rs 20.414 billion as taxes/duties in the month of July 2016 that included Rs 7.99 billion under the head of customs duty, Rs 8.492 billion as sales tax, Rs 3.82 billion as income tax and Rs 129 million as federal excise duty (FED).

The sources told Customs Today that Customs Appraisement West collected Rs 285,486 million taxes/duties since July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016 that included Rs 112,761 million under head of customs duty, Rs 123,491 million as sales tax, Rs 47,214 million as income tax and Rs 2,021 million under head of federal excise duty.

According to sources, the collection for the year 2014-15 remained at Rs 233,701 billion that included Rs 92,555 million as customs duty, Rs 100,727 million as sales tax, Rs 38,533 million as income tax and Rs 1,887 million as federal excise duty.

In June 2016, sources added that the Customs Appraisement West collected Rs 18,496 million under the head of customs duty, Rs 12,873 million under the head of sales tax, Rs 4,681 million as income tax and Rs 184 million under head of federal excise duty.

It is mentioned here that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) recently announced cash rewards for the officials of the Collectorates for their outstanding performance.
