KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued clear instructions to the Customs Collectorate of Appraisement West and Customs Collectorate of Appraisement East not to allow clearance of imports of dish televisions, receivers and all other equipment used to watch Indian channels, it is leant.
The customs officials during their two-day training at the Directorate General of Training and Research (DGTR) were clearly asked not to clear dish TVs and all other related equipment.
According to sources, the decision to ban the dish TVs, receivers imports has been taken following the tense situation between two countries Pakistan and India.
Moreover, sources added that the customs authorities would also visit city’s major markets and suppliers of the dish TVs restraining them even not to sell the dish TVs. Sources said that stern action will be taken against those suppliers who will found involved in selling dish TVs.
