CCTV cameras at KICT, BOML, AICT soon: Collector Saleem

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) of Appraisement-West collector Muhammad Saleem has said that MCC, after launching Queue Management System (QMS), is now considering installing Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in the examination yards of Karachi International Containers Terminal (KICT), BOML and AICT for making the examination process fully scrutinised.

He was talking exclusively with Customs Today in his office.

He said that 12 CCTV cameras have already been installed in the assessment hall in order to make proper surveillance of the appraising staff and ensure facilitation to the traders/importers.

“The number of cameras in the assessment hall may be increased as per the requirement,” he said adding that the CCTV cameras would be installed soon at the examination yard of KICT, AICT and BOML.

He further said that the customs authorities were in touch with traders and importers to resolve the issues they are facing
