KARACHI: Customs authorities have arrested a currency smuggler at Jinnah International Airport Karachi who was allegedly trying to smuggle 143,000 Durham from Karachi to Dubai.
According to details, the accused was taking 143,000 Durham ($40,000) to UAE by International flight. On the directions of Additional Director Customs (ADC) Dr Tahir Qureshi and Deputy Director (DC) Ali Raza Turabi, Customs authorities are taking serious steps to curb illegal currency smuggling.
The Customs officials arrested the person namely Muhammad Zahid who was allegedly taking foreign currency to UAE by flight no EK-671.
