MUMBAI: Air intelligence unit (AIU) of the Customs has arrested an Indian citizen with foreign currency worth Rs 31.82 lakh at International airport while he was leaving for Dubai on early Tuesday.
The accused, Shaheed Mohammed, was taking the foreign currency out of the country illegally.
The AIU official intercepted him on suspicion and found 8350 Australian Dollars, 30000Euros, 3500 Pounds and 15300 UAE Dirhams with him. He had concealed the currency in a laptop bag, a trolley bag and his jeans pockets.
