KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement-East and West have instructed the importers and clearing agents to upload all relevant documents before filing the import goods declaration.
In this regard, the importers and clearing agents’ representatives circulated a office memo advising all the members to upload all necessary/relevant documents in order to avoid unnecessary inconvenience and undue delay in clearance of import consignments.
This course of action will reduce the dwell time for calling documents by customs authorities. The documents, which the Appraisement-East and West require included invoice, packing list (container-wise), bill of lading BL, letter of credit LC catalogue/brochure, literature, certificate require (if any).
Moreover, in case of chemical consignments test reports having validity of 6 months for the same nature of cargo should be uploaded before filing of the goods declaration, the memo stated.
