Customs ASO conducts several raids, contraband goods worth millions of rupees busted

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has busted huge quantity of smuggled goods worth millions of rupees in a successful raid.

Deputy Collector ASO Headquarters Faisal Khan informed Customs Today that the recovered contraband goods includes 20 tyres and Suzuki pick-up worth Rs490,000 and Rs 250,000 respectively and 21 curtain cloth rolls or 1386 yards weighing 714 kilograms worth Rs399,840.

He said that various enforcement activities at different parts of the city seized huge quantity of contraband items worth millions of rupees.

During the raids conducted in different part of the city to seize Indian gutka 16 packets containing 1600 pouches worth Rs32000, cigarettes 543 dandas worth Rs714,500 and Suzuki pickup worth 250,000 worth Rs996,500.

Fire gas spray 995 pieces worth Rs68,040 and cigarette lighter 9000 pieces worth Rs45000 were also recovered along with other contraband items.

The recovered contraband goods have been taken into the custody and the case has been registered against the heinous crime whereas further investigations are underway.
