Customs ASO confiscates NDP cloth from GT Road

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Anti Smuggling Organization impounded over six tons of imported cloth from GT Road.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Ahmad Rauf received credible information about smuggling of cloth through GT Road. He immediately constituted anti-smuggling squad under the supervision of Deputy Collector Naveedur Rehman Bhugvi.

The team enhanced checking on GT Road. During patrolling the ASO team intercepted a Mazda van and recovered huge quantity of foreign origin cloth.

Sources told that the driver of the vehicle failed to provide any relevant legal documents. After his failure, ASO team impounded the cloth and brought the same to State Warehouse. Sources told that ASO team after registering a case started investigations.

It is necessary to mention here that Collector Preventive Ahmad Rauf directed all field staff to adopt zero tolerance policy towards smuggling.
