Customs ASO generates Rs24m through auction of goods, vehicles

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has generated through auction of non-duty paid goods and vehicles on Friday.

Sources told Customs Today different non-duty paid goods and vehicles which were impounded during different anti-smuggling operations were presented for auction. These goods includes generators, cloth and other miscellaneous item. Sources told that Rs10 million were generated through auction of these goods.

Sources told that five different vehicles were also presented for auction and Rs14 million were earned through auction of these vehicles.

Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization Assistant Collector Salman Javaid supervised whole auction process.

Sources told that these auction played vital role to achieve revenue collection target assigned to the Collectorate.

It is necessary to mention here that Collector Ahmad Rauf directed all field formations to adopt effective strategy to curb menace of smuggling in the jurisdiction and dealt with accused persons according to law who found involved in smuggling.
