Customs anti-smuggling wing impounds huge quantity of non-duty paid auto-parts from McLeod Road

LAHORE: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigations anti- smuggling team has seized millions of rupees non customs paid auto-spare parts of motorbikes.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs I&I on the directions of Director Customs Intelligence and Investigations Zulfiqar Younas raided a godown located at Mcleod Road and seized over Rs 2.5 million non duty paid auto parts from the godown.

The sources said that auto-parts including pistons, handles, engines, cylenders and other parts of bike were discovered from the godown.

The sources said that the customs authorities impounded the non-customs paid auto-parts following ownerfailed to produce any legal clearance documents regarding possession of auto parts.

The sources said that the customs authorities after impounding the non-duty paid items have registered a case and started further investigations in this regard.

The sources said that market is abounding in non-customs paid items and the customs authorities were doing their best to crackdown the nexus of the smugglers.
