Customs ASO seizes non-duty paid Honda Civic, Vitz from Gulberg, Shalimar Town

LAHORE: Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization confiscated two non-customs paid vehicles from Gulberg and Shalimar Town.

It was reported that Customs ASO teams in two separate operations intercepted two vehicles and confiscated the same on the owners’ failure to produce legal clearance documents.

The sources said that the ASO car cell confiscated Toyota Vitz 4399 / lEB 2006 at a picket near Shalimar Town from one Khuram.

It was said that the customs authorities demanded legal clearance documents from the owner but he failed to produce any required documents.

In another operation the customs ASO seized Honda Civic LWJ / 95 from one Shahid Butt near Saddique Trade Centre.

The source said that the customs authorities on suspicion chased the Honda Civic and stopped it near Saddique Trade Center where on checking the customs authorities confirmed that the car was illegally imported and being played on the city roads.

The customs authorities finally detained the car and impounded afterwards after being fully satisfied that the car was non-customs paid.

The owner of the car Shahid Butt told Customs Today that he had to buy the car in order to replace its parts with his burnt out car.

The cars were confiscated on the directions of Assistant Collector Asim Awan by a team of ASO consisting inspector Sajjad Bukhari and others.
