KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) expedited its efforts against movement and distribution of smuggled goods.
Sources told Customs Today that ASO seized smuggled goods worth Rs2.01 million as information was passed to the ASO staff about the dumping of smuggled diesel in New Nazimabad. The staff raided an open plot in the New Nazimabad and recovered 19,300 liters smuggled diesel worth Rs1.737 million. Moreover, 1.2 tons of betel nut worth Rs0.338 million was also seized from Kharadar area.
It is necessary to mention here that Chief Collector Enforcement South Wasif Ali Memon directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy towards smuggling.
