Customs ASO foils bid to smuggle 10 lakh Saudi Riyals, narcotics on Friday

PESHAWAR: Custom department Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) in two separate crackdowns seized 10 lakh Saudi Riyal on Afghan border while huge catches of narcotics recovered by the anti smuggling wing of custom near Kohat Tunnel.

Sources told Customs Today, in the first crackdown a truck bearing registration number BL-76777 was on way to Afghanistan when it was flag down for routine checking. When Inspector Naeem and Inspector Mahmood-ul-Hasan checked the secret cavities of the truck they recovered Saudi currency of one million riyals.

Custom Anti Smuggling Organization seized the smuggled chars and arrested two persons. It is second major crackdown since the new Collector Gul Rahman took the charge.
