Customs ASO recovers huge quantity of smuggled goods from Bolton Market

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Preventive, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) recovered huge quantity of non-duty paid goods during successful operations in the last four days.

According to sources, Collector Preventive Saquif Saeed received credible information that huge quantity of smuggled goods had been dumped at warehouses in Chati Lane Bolton Market.

He immediately constituted anti-smuggling squad who conducted a successful raid at a godown located at Chati Lane Bolton Market.

The anti-smuggling squad recovered Benson and Hedges 20,000 dandas ,Brass 5000 dandas,3-Tazz 2500 dandas, Dunhil 5000dandas, Chinese flavored cigarettes 10,000 dandas, King Edward cigars 20 cartons and ghutka ( J.M) & (Pan Ras) Brand 10,000 packets

Earlier, two days ago, raid was conducted in Jodia Bazar, and Rs40 million worth of cigarettes, cigars, Indian tobacco were recovered.

Prior to that large quantity of smuggled betel nut was recovered from a warehouse at Railway Yard in Karachi.

Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) registered a case against the owner of the warehouses and started investigations.
