Customs ASO recovers smuggled goods worth Rs10m near Kala Shah Kaku

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) foiled an attempt to smuggle huge quantity of fabric/cloth, auto parts and floodlights.

Sources told Customs Today that Additional Collector Tayyaba Kiyani received credible information that huge quantity of smuggled fabric/cloth, auto parts and floodlights will be smuggled from Peshawar to Lahore.

Customs anti-smuggling squad intercepted a trailer mounted by container near Kala Shah Kaku coming from Peshawar via GT Road.

During thorough search, foreign origin smuggled fabric/cloth, auto parts and floodlights were recovered. The worth of smuggled goods is above Rs10 millions while the import documents presented by the owner proved to be irrelevant and fake.

The smuggled goods along with vehicle were impounded, and further investigations are still underway till the filing of this report.

It is necessary to mention here that Additional Collector Tayyaba Kiyani directed all anti-smuggling squads to enhance patrolling of main entry and exit points of the city.
