Customs ASO seizes 32 cartons of flavored coal for shisha smoking

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), Friday, impounded 32 cartons of flavored coal which is used in shisha smoking.

Sources told Customs Today that the Customs ASO team on the information of Assistant Collector Customs Asim Awan raided in an area in city and recovered 32 cartons of illegally imported flavored coal for shisha smoking. The sources said that the customs team led by Superintendent Waqar Cheema operated and seized the cartons from a van.

The estimated value of the coal is determined at Rs1 million the sources said adding that the coal was to be distributed in clubs for shisha smoking.

The sources said that youth are badly affected by the use of shisha smoking and the government was compelled to ban the smoking but the drug runners are now pushing the shisha coal ingredients under hand.

The sources said that a case has been registered and further investigations are still underway till filing of this report.
