Customs ASO seizes container of smuggled Irani tiles

KARACHI: A team of Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation-Karachi on the special directives of Director General, Customs Intelligence and Investigation-FBR, Lutfullah Virk has seized smuggled Irani tiles worth Rs 2.5 million in a raid.

According to the details, an ASO team comprising Incharge Haji Muhammad Aslam, Akmal Hashmi, Asfar Shah and others on a tip-off raided Kathoor area located near Superhighway and seized a 20-feet container filled with smuggled Irani tiles worth Rs 2.5 million.

No arrest was made during the raid while further investigation was underway. It is pertinent to mention here that the ASO team recently conducted a massive raid in Lyari area and seized 700 bags of poppy seed, originated from Afghanistan worth millions of rupees.
