Customs ASO seizes illegally imported dry skimmed milk & zeera worth Rs30m

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized illegally imported dry skimmed milk and zeera worth Rs30 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Customs Preventive Ahmad Rauf received credible information about storage of non-duty paid goods in a godown located in Badami Bagh. He constituted an anti-smuggling squad which raided M/s Ghafar Goods Service godown in Badami Bagh and recovered skimmed milk and zeera worth Rs 30 million. The official sources told that Customs team on the direction of collector of customs Ahmad Rauf took action against the smuggled dry milk and zeera. The sources said that after registering a case, further investigation has been started.

The stock of the seized items has been shifted to the Customs godown at the Shah Noor Studio. The source said that Collector Ahmad Rauf has instructed the ASO team to adopt zero tolerance policy against all types of smuggling goods and items. The ASO team was also instructed to follow SOPs of Customs.
