Customs ASO seizes motor oil lubricant worth Rs.7 m from Rajanpur

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has recovered foreign origin motor oil lubricant of worth Rs7 million loaded on a truck near Rajanpur.

Sources told Customs Today that following the directions of Collector Muhammad Saleem, Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has initiated crackdown against the smuggled goods in the jurisdiction.

Collector received credible information from his source that huge quantity of smuggled Motor oil lubricant will be transported through Rajanpur region to Multan. Anti-smuggling staff was alerted and directed to remain vigilant regarding any attempt of smuggling.

Deputy Collector Maqbool Ahmad Baloch formed special team comprised of Inspector Asif Sindhu and others to foil any attempt of smuggling in the Jurisdiction.

Customs Anti-Smuggling squad intercepted a suspected truck in the Rajanpur area which was loaded with huge quantity of motor oil lubricants. Customs teams recovered almost 12000 cartons of Motor Oil lubricant packed in different canes during the searching of truck.

Customs teams asked driver of the vehicle to produce legal documents of the recovered motor oil and he produced different invoices to Multan Customs staff which proves fake during verification.

Then Customs anti-smuggling squad took the motor oil lubricant canes in their custody. The recovered motor oil was Iran origin. The quantity of recovered Motor Oil was almost 26000 liters. Multan Customs seized Iran origin motor oil under Customs Act 1969. The total worth of the seized motor oil is almost Rs.7 million and duty taxes of Rs4 million.

The value of the vehicle was almost Rs.8 million. Further investigation regarding seized lubricant was still under process.
