Customs ASO seizes polyester cloth & yarn from warehouse in New Karachi

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) seized foreign origin assorted polyester and net cloth and polyester yarn from a warehouse in New Karachi.

Sources told that Collector Customs Preventive Saquif Saeed received credible information that huge quantity of smuggled goods are dumped in a warehouse located in New Karachi.

He immediately directed Additional Collector Haroon Malik to take necessary measures to recover the goods from warehouse .Customs anti-smuggling squad under the supervision of Assistant Collector Shafiullah and Superintendent Iftikhar Hasan reached the identified warehouse and conducted the search after fulfilling the formalities.

The detailed search led to recovery of foreign origin assorted polyester and net cloth and polyester yarn. The goods were seized and shifted to state warehouse.

Initial investigations revealed that a person namely Asif is owner of the warehouse and one Usman is the owner of the seized goods. It was also known that Abdul Qadir aka Raju and Razzaq are facilitators in this crime.

An FIR is lodged and investigations are still underway.
