Customs ASO seizes smuggled Land Cruiser model 2009 worth Rs 16m

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has impounded a non-duty paid Toyota Land Cruiser, model 2009 from Ravi Road worth Rs 16 million, sources told Customs Today the other day.

The sources said that the Anti-Smuggling Organization of Custom Collectorate Preventive, Lahore, under the supervision of Assistant Collector Dr Muhammad Adnan Khan and Superintendent Waqar Ahmad Cheema intercepted a non-duty paid / smuggled Toyota Land Cruiser (ZX) (model 2009) which was plying on the road with registration number plate LEC-13-6262.

The sources said that the plate number was found as fake and the driver of the vehicle was also not able to produce any documents against the vehicle.

The ASO team being fully satisfied finally seized the vehicle in the name of the state and after registering a case started further investigation, the sources informed.

The sources also said that the vehicle has been sent for forensic lab test in laboratory
