Customs ASO seizes Rs 2m illegally imported mobiles from Ravi Toll Plaza

LAHORE: Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization has seized Rs 2 million illegally imported smart mobile phones from Ravi Toll Plaza, Lahore.

Official sources said that on information Customs ASO led by Superintendent Waqar Chemea under the supervision of Deputy Collector Asim Awan intercepted a vehicle and recovered assorted brands of Samsung, Iphones, HTC, LG, Samsung tablets , Soft Black mobiles and others.

The sources said that the vehicle was being driven by one Rizwan Amin son of Amin who failed to produce any documents of legal import when he was asked by Inspector Sajjad Bukhari.

The customs authorities after being fully satisfied that the mobiles were illegally brought in to the city without legal documentation impounded the all mobile and registered a case.  The sources said that the mobiles were valued at Rs 2 million.

The sources said that the customs authorities after impounding the mobile arrested the accused and locked him up for producing before the court of law for illegally importing the mobile inside the city.
