Customs ASO seizes smuggled goods, NDP, offending vehicles worth Rs.20.0233m

ISLAMABAD: Anti Smuggling Organization and Car cell of Customs Collectorate Islamabad seized miscellaneous smuggled goods, non duty paid (NDP) and offending vehicles during third week of November 2016-17 amounting Rs.20.0233 million.

Deputy Collector Customs Preventive Shahid Jan told Customs Today that during third week of November of Fiscal Year 2016-17 the overall performance of Customs preventive department was satisfactory, adding that during above said period car cell seized one non duty paid vehicle as and impounded eight offending vehicles.

He said that offending vehicles seized during above said period includes Suzuki pick up amounting worth Rs.1.2 million, Hino truck worth Rs 1 million, 3 Hino passengers buses amounting Rs.6 million.

Shahid Jan said that car cell seized one non duty paid Mercedes Benz car bearing registration no. BS-0695 amounting Rs.0.7103 million during said period, adding that during third week of November ASO aso seized velvet cloth 405 kilograms, ladies suiting polyester 1170 kilograms, LEDs 66 numbers, hair oil 312 kilograms, iron pad lock 570 kilograms, bearing 60 kilograms, tyres 53 nos, gents suiting cloth 371 kilograms gents suiting polyester and many different types of smuggled goods including one non duty paid vehicle amounting to Rs.11.8233 million.

Deputy Collector Shahid Jan said that due Anti Smuggling Organization is adopting zero tolerance policy towards smugglers.
