Customs ASO seizes smuggled goods & NDP vehicle worth Rs20m

ISLAMABAD: Collectorate of Customs, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized huge quantity of foreign origin smuggled goods along with offending vehicles worth Rs20 million.

According to details, credible information was received by Collector Junaid Jaleel that huge quantity of smuggled foreign origin goods will be smuggled via Islamabad Motorway and coming from Quetta side, said information was forwarded to Assistant Collector Fahd Iqbal.

The Assistant Collector formed a raiding party led by Sepoy Haji Shahzad Anjum along with Inspector Azhar Jafari, Hussain Muhammad Ishaiq, the squad stopped a container bearing registration TLE-262 along with container NO. GLDU-737850-2 (Volvo model 1986).

The ASO squad asked the driver to show relevant documents about the loaded foreign goods, but driver failed to provide any GD (goods declaration),the squad seized the vehicles and goods and then bring them to the State Ware house.

After examine the smuggled goods seized those were comprises cumin 375 kg, almond 1054 kg, de washing liquid 1200 ltr, remtin chocolate 629 kg, spark chocolate 4212 kg, pislachio en shield 100 kg, pislachio without shield 100kg, white cacao 200kg, 320-cashews 420 kg, cashews 1300 kg, fruit juice drink assorted flavor 7200 tin, spray skimmed milk powder 1600 kg, éclair toffee 336 kg.

Pistachio without shelled 620 kg, pistachio without shelled 640 kg, UHT cream pure 200ml 23760pkt, almond NPX extra without shelled 5216 kg, almonds California 1134 kg, almonds California 680 kg, energy drinks 250ml 2400 TIN, alkan gol baran 500 kg, foreign origin deodorant body spray pour homme 200ml 40 pcs, homme 200ml 30 pcs, homme 200ml 45 pcs, invasive care heeling musk lotion 400ml 240 pieces.

The Collector MCC Islamabad and Chief Collector North appreciated the Assistant Collector and ASO squad for doing this outstanding anti smuggling operation.
