LAHORE: The Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) on Wednesday seized a huge quantity of transit trade BOPP packing material.
Sources told Customs Today that packing material was valued Rs 5 million. The customs ASO, on the directives of Customs Collector Zulfiqar Younis raided a godown in Laurex Colony Badami Bagh and detained the BOPP following being convinced that the packing material was imported under transit trade and was illegally brought into Pakistan. The sources said that the godown is owned by a trader who is identified as Sheikh Khuram.
The customs authorities have registered a case and started investigations.
