Customs Auction Cell Islamabad fetches Rs33m as CD during 15 days of January

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Auction Cell MCC Islamabad received over Rs33million of Customs Duty by auctioning off impounded smuggled goods and vehicles during first half of January FY17-18.

According to details explained by official of the Customs Auction Cell Islamabad that, during 1st half of January FY17-18, the Auction Cell held an auction along with the Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) here at Islamabad. The MCC Auction Cell fetched Rs32.216million as Customs Duty (CD) while the I&I Islamabad received Rs0.984million by holding the auction of confiscated items and vehicles.
The Auction Cell Islamabad earned Rs 109.00million of Customs Duty during 2nd Quarter of Fiscal Year 2017-18 by auctioning off goods confiscated by the Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) and Islamabad Customs. The Auction Cell fetched Rs57.344million as Customs Duty (CD) during the month of December Fiscal Year (FY) 2017-18 whereas the Auction Cell did Rs5.478million under the same head during the month of November FY17-18 while it got Rs46.173million through auction of various kinds of items during the month of October FY17-18.
During the month of December FY17-18, the Directorate of I&I Islamabad collected Rs18.657million of revenue by impounding goods under the head of CD while Islamabad Customs earned Rs38.687million as revenue during said period under the same head.
The sources notified CT that, during the month of November FY17-18, the I&I fetched Rs0.300million of CD by auctioning the confiscated goods while Collectorate of Islamabad generated Rs5.178million under the same head during the same period by auctioning off seized items. During the month of October FY17-18, the I&I obtained Rs45.697million by publically selling the confiscated goods while the Islamabad Customs did Rs0.476million of revenue by taking into possession items under the head of CD.
