Customs authorities seized smuggled goods worth Rs.55.5m

PESHAWAR: Customs Collectorate Peshawar in different activities foiled the smuggling bids of illegal items worth Rs.55.2 million.

The seized goods were included non-duty paid vehicles, foreign manufactured cloth, bed sheets, mobile-chargers, tyrs, cigarettes, wielding rods and other items.

According to a press release, on the directives of the Collector Customs, Peshawar Gul Rehman, the customs authorities had tightened the noose around smuggling and accelerated operation in this regard.

According to a weekly report of the collectorat, customs authorities in raids against different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Peshawar in first action smuggled goods worth Rs.28.7 million were taken into possession. The seized goods were included non-duty paid vehicles.

Similarly, in the second and third actions, illegal goods worth Rs.15.4 million and Rs.11.1 million were confiscated respectively.
