Customs seizes depot of smuggled diesel

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Preventive Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has apprehended huge quantity of smuggled Iranian diesel.

On a tipoff of higher authorities, Deputy Collector Customs Preventive Headquarters Muhammad Faisal Khan conducted raid at Nazimabad adjoining SITE area near Habib Bank Chowrangi and recovered huge quantity of smuggled Iranian diesel. During the raid, the team of ASO spotted an illegal depot containing smuggled diesel.

The team seized the smuggled diesel weighing 70,486 liters worth Rs1,661,170. During the raid, petroleum chemical in huge quantity was also recovered. The guard of the depot failed to provide any legal documents regarding storage of petroleum chemical.

Customs Preventive team, after registering a case of smuggling against the accused persons, started further investigations.
