MULTAN: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) captured 80,000 litres of smuggled High Speed Diesel worth Rs 20 million from Dera Ghazi Khan region.
As per detail, the Customs ASO intercepted two oil-tankers and recovered 80, 000 litres of smuggled diesel.
The owners identified as Mohiuddin and Noor Ahmad were trying to sell the diesel to Hascol Petrol Pump in Dera Ghazi Khan region. They claimed that they had purchased the diesel from Customs Department in Dalbadin through auction and produced purchase documents of a government department.
The documents showed the total quantity of diesel in both the oil-tankers to be 58,000 litres. However, upon verification of the documents and measurements of oil, it transpired that both the tankers were containing 80,000 litres of diesel.
At which the Customs ASO seized the oil-tankers.
Meanwhile, Collector Customs Sarfraz Warraich told Customs Today that he himself monitored the operation.
He said that FIR had been registered against the culprits and further investigation was underway.
