Customs Car Cell, ASO impound 163 vehicles worth Rs222.72m in first 7 months of FY2016-17

ISLAMABAD: Customs car cell and Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) collected revenue Rs222.72 million by impounding 163 vehicles during first seven months (July to January) of financial year (FY) 2016-17.

Deputy Collector Ansir Anees told Customs Today that the both departments shown outstanding performance during the above said period.

Ansir said that during the above said period the customs car cell impounded non-duty paid as well as offending vehicles during the above said period. The customs car cell impounded 63 non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs114.37 million.

She said that the customs ASO department collected revenue Rs6.2 million by seizing 4 offending vehicles during last week of Januray2017 as well as the customs car cell generated revenue Rs2.2 million by seizing 2 non-duty paid vehicles.

Deputy Collector Ansir Anees added that the collector MCC Islamabad and chief collector north appreciated the performance of both departments and asked them to keep the good work up and nab the offenders.
