Customs Central Region bags Rs 5,715m in 15 days of November

LAHORE: Customs Central Region has collected Rs 5,715 million in wake of all duty and taxes during the first 15 days of November 2016.

As per the details, the Lahore Customs Appraisement collected Rs 2,192 million during the said period, while Lahore Customs Preventive generated Rs 1,170 million as duty/taxes.

The Model Customs Collectorate, Multan collected Rs 1507 million under the head of duty and taxes during the period under review. The Faisalabad Customs collected Rs 843 million, which is 99 percent additional collection when compared to the previous year’s collection.

The central region has been assigned Rs 13435 million revenue targets in wake of duty and taxes which are almost double than the last year target of Rs 6717 million.

Sources said that all the collectors under region have been putting maximum efforts to attain as much revenue as they can achieve financial year 2016-17 target and for the reason from top to bottom every official is putting hectic efforts to achieve the goal.

On the other hand, Customs Central Region Chief Collector Samaira Nazir has also been personally monitoring the collection of all the four collectorates.

It may be mentioned here that the region collected Rs 38.57 billion as duty and taxes during first four months of finical year 2016-17.

The Lahore Customs Appraisement collected Rs 19,145 million; the Customs Preventive collected Rs 8,593 million during the four months. Similarly, the Multan Customs collected Rs 7,891 million, while the Faisalabad Customs collected Rs 2,941 million as duty and taxes during the said period.
