Customs Central Region collects Rs 1329m WHT in November

LAHORE: Customs Central Region has collected Rs 1329 million withholding tax (WHT) during the month of November of current financial year 2016-17.

As per details, Customs Appraisement collected Rs 539 million of WHT during the month of November financial year 2016-17. Similarly, Customs Preventive department collected Rs 764 million WHT during the period under review.

The Collectorate of Multan collected Rs 14 million of WHT during the period under review. The Collectorate of Customs Faisalabad has collected zero federal excise duty while same period last financial year it has collected Rs8 million.

Overall the Central Region collected total federal excise duty (FED) from all the four Collectorates worth Rs 1329 million during the month of November of financial year 20161-17.

The Central Region has been assigned Rs 1467 million WHT collection target against the same target of Rs 1467 million assigned during the same period of last financial year. Sources said that the collectors of all the four collectorate has been told enhance more efforts to meet financial year’s targets while the Customs Central Region Chief Collector Samaira Nazir has also been monitoring all the revenue collection from all stations that come under the limits of Central Region.
