Customs Central Region collects Rs 193m FED in four months

LAHORE: The Customs Central Region has collected Rs 193 million on account of federal excise duty (FED) during the first four months of financial year 2016-17.

As per details, collectorate of Customs Appraisement collected Rs 34 million on account of federal excise duty during first four months of the period under review while the collectorate of Customs Preventive collected Rs 101 million federal excise duty during the four months financial year 2016-17.

Similarly, collectorate of Customs Multan collected Rs 57 million federal excise duty during the first four months of the current financial year 2016-17.

On the other hand, the collectorate of Faisalabad collected Rs 0.07 million on account of federal excise duty during the first four months of financial year 201-17.

Overall the Customs Central Region collected Rs 193 million federal excise duty during the first four months of financial year 2016-17.

The federal excise duty collected from import and export by all the four collectorate that come under the limits of Central Region.

Sources told Customs Today that Chief Collector of Customs Central Region Samaira Nazir in order to meet financial year’s targets has urged all the collectorates to speed up revenue collection efforts all the taxes.

The collectors of all the four colletorates has also proactively started holding meeting with their subordinates in order to motivate them to do their best to achieve the financial year targets, sources said adding that the measures taken at the collectorates level have started yielding good results.
