Customs Central Region collects Rs 2,240 million WHT in August

LAHORE: The Customs Central Region has collected Rs 2,240 million withholding tax (WHT) during August 2016 against Rs 2,317 million which were collected during the same month of the last fiscal year.

The collectorate of Customs Appraisement collected Rs 1,081 million WHT during the period under review against Rs 1,095 million collected during the month of August 2015. Similarly, the collectorate of Preventive collected Rs 1,087 million during the period under review against Rs 1,133 million collected during August 2015.

Collectorate of Customs Multan collected Rs 40 million WHT during the month of August 2016 against Rs 67 million collected during August 2015 while the collectorate of Faisalabad collected Rs 29 million WHT during the month of August 2016 against Rs 21 million during August 2015.

On the whole Customs Central Region collected Rs 2240 million during August 2016 against the collection of Rs 2317 million during August 2015.
