Customs Central Region collects Rs 4801 m WHT in 4 months

LAHORE: The Customs Central Region has collected Rs 4801 million under the head of withholding tax during the first quarter of financial year 2016-17.

As per details, collectorate of Customs Appraisement collected Rs 2311 million on account of withholding tax during first four months of the period under review while the collectorate of Customs Preventive collected Rs 2365 million during first four months of previous financial year 2016-17. Similarly, collectorate of Customs Multan collected Rs 78 million during first  four months of the current financial year.

On the other hand, the collectorate of Customs Faisalabad collected Rs 45 million under the head of withholding tax during the first four months of financial year 201-17.

Overall the Customs Central Region collected Rs 4801 million under the head of withholding tax during the four months of financial year 2016-17.

The withholding tax has been collected from import and export by all the four collectorate that come under the limits of Central Region.

Sources told Customs Today that Chief Collector of Customs Central Region Samaira Nazir in order to meet financial year’s targets has urged all the collectorates to speed up their efforts to collect revenue to meet the revenue collection target of FY 2016-17.
