Customs Central Region collects Rs11628m customs duty in four months of FY 2016-17

LAHORE: Customs Central Region has collected Rs 11628 million customs duty during the first four months of financial year 2016-17 registering 6 percent growth as compared to collection of Rs 10984 during the same period of last financial year of 2015-16.

As per details the Customs Appraisement collected Rs 6859 million during the first four months of 2016-17 against Rs 4437 million collected during the same period last year of 2016-17.

Similarly, Customs Preventive collected Rs 2344 million customs duty during the first four months of financial year 2015-16 against Rs 1638 million collected during the same period last year.

The Collectorate of Multan collected Rs 1726 million during the period under review against the collection of customs duty Rs 2185 million during last year of 2015-16.

In the same way, the collectorate of Customs Faisalabad collected Rs 97 million during the first four month of financial year 2016-17 against the collection of Rs 165 million during the same period last year.

Overall the Central Region collected total customs duty from all the four collectorate worth Rs11628 million customs duty against the collection of Rs 10984 million during the same period last financial year.

Sources said that chief collector of Customs Samaira Nazir has instructed all the collectors of the four collectors to work hard to achieve the targets given by the board and also motivate the subordinates to use all available resources to gather as much revenue as they can do to achieve the targets for the financial year 2016-17.
