Central Region: Customs’ officers rejoice exceeding revenue target in Eid milan party

LAHORE: Customs Central Region hosted an Annual Dinner-cum-Eid Milan party in the lawn of Custom House, Lahore on July 27.

All officers of the Central Region BS-17 and above participated enthusiastically.  The Chief Collector Customs (Central) Mr. Rozi Khan Burki was the chief guest on the occasion while Collector Appraisement Mr. Muhammad Zahid and Collector Preventive Mr. Mukarram Jah Ansari were the co-hosts, besides Dr. Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich Collector Multan and Tauseef Ahmad Qureshi Collector Faisalabad.  Almost all the Additional Collectors, Deputy Collectors and Assistant Collectors attended the event.

Director Customs Intelligence Mr. Imtiaz Ahmad Khan along with his junior officers ardently participated.  Director PCA Mr. Saud Imran also participated with his usual wit and humour, accompanied by his entourage of PCA officers.  Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah Collector Appeals, Ahmad Reza Khan Collector Adjudication, Muhammad Sadiq, Director IOCO, Zulfiqar Younas Director Training and  Additional Director Internal Audit Zeb Gul Shabbir graced the occasion along with their teams of young officers.  This extraordinary participation of officers in this event was noticed and appreciated by all.  This occasion marked three celebrations combined i.e. rejoicing over achieving of revenue targets, Eid Milan and the annual dinner.

To add colour to the event, the participants had contributed to arrange a light musical program.  They were entertained by the young and talented singer Sara Raza Khan with her beautiful Pashto, Punjabi and Urdu songs. At the end, the participants enjoyed delicious Lahori food in the company of their friends and colleagues.

The participants lauded the arrangements and termed it a good tradition. Collector Customs Preventive Mukarram Jah Ansari told Customs Today that the officers wanted to get together and relax for an evening after revenue efforts at the end of the Financial Year.

He expressed hopes that such an atmosphere would promote better interaction amongst all Customs officers for collective professional interests as well as create a friendly and collaborative environment.
