Customs Central Region posts 25pc growth in customs duty collection

LAHORE: Customs Central Region has collected Rs 1,1401 million customs duty, showing a growth of 25 percent during first quarter from July to September of the financial year 2017-18.

As per details, the Customs Appraisement Lahore collected Rs 6,370 million customs duty and Customs Preventive Lahore collected Rs 2,463 million during the period under review. On the other hand, the Collectorate of Multan collected Rs 1,750 million customs duty during the first quarter of current fiscal year.

The Collectorate of Customs Faisalabad collected Rs 817 million customs duty during the first quarter. Overall, the Central Region collected all duty and taxes from all the four Collectorates worth Rs 11,401 million.

The sources said that officials the Collectorate of the Central Region are making maximum efforts to achieve targets on the instructions of the Chief Collector of Customs Central Region.
