Customs Central Region posts 28pc growth in customs duty collection

LAHORE: Customs Central Region has posted a growth of 28 per cent in collection of customs duty during the month of April of the financial year 2017-18 by collecting over Rs 5771 million.

As per details the Collectorate of Customs Appraisement Lahore collected Rs 3580 million under the head of customs duty during the period under review while Collectorate of Customs Preventive collected Rs 966 million during period under review.

On the other hand, the Collectorate of Customs Multan collected Rs991 million under the head of customs duty during the month of April of financial year 2017-18.

In the same way, the Collectorate of Customs Faisalabad collected Rs 233 million under the head of customs duty during the above said period.

Overall the Customs Central Region collected customs duty from all the four Collectorates worth Rs 5771 million by posting a growth of 28 percent during April of FY 2o17-18 against the collection of same period last year.
