RIYADH: Deif Al-Otaibi, Director General of Customs of King Abdul Aziz Port in Dammam, revealed the statistics of the customs transactions carried out during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday for the year 1438H during the period 1438/9 / 21H until 1438/10 / 14H. Al-Otaibi explained that the weight of the imported goods whose customs procedures were terminated during the period mentioned (466,178,000) were four hundred and sixty-six thousand tons and one hundred and eighty-eight thousand kilograms. The total weight of exports during the same period reached 137,167,000 tons And the weight of goods re-exported for non-conformity to the standard specifications (15.939.000) fifteen thousand tons and nine hundred and thirty-nine thousand kilograms. He added that the value of these goods amounted to (2.795.090) two million seven hundred and ninety five ninety ninety riyals, while the value of exports (520.766) five hundred and twenty thousand seven hundred and sixty six riyals, and the goods re-exported (130.533) one hundred and thirty thousand riyals and five hundred and thirty-three Real.
Al-Otaibi said that the total number of containers received during the period referred to amounted to 15,920, fifteen thousand and nine hundred and twenty containers, while the number of containers issued (4,249) four thousand and two hundred and forty-nine containers. Al-Otaibi added that the number of customs transactions that have been cleared (7,384) seven thousand and three hundred and eighty-four transactions, and the number of transactions not cleared during the same period (4,190) four hundred and ninety-nine transactions. The Director General of Customs of King Abdulaziz Port pointed out that the keenness of the General Customs Department to harness all its potential led to the continuous flow of imports and exports during the holiday without interruption, which contributed to reducing import and export costs and providing goods to consumers on time.
