Customs Collectorates asked to observe extended working hours on March 30, 31

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has instructed all the chief collectors and collectors of all the field formations to observe extended working hours on March 30 and 31, 2016 so as to ensure collection of duties and taxes.

According to a notification issued by Secretary Law and Procedure, FBR, Rahmatulah Vistro, all the field offices will remain open and observe extended working hours i.e. 9am to 8pm on Wednesday, March 30 and from 9am to 10pm on Thursday March 31, 2016 for collection of duties and taxes.

The chief collectors are also requested to establish liaison with the State Bank of Pakistan, National Bank of Pakistan and scheduled commercial banks in their jurisdiction to ensure transfer of tax collection from these branches before or on 31.3.2016 to respective offices of State Bank of Pakistan on the same date so as to ensure the accounting of the same towards the collection for the month of March 2016, the notification added.
