Customs confiscates 170 sets of cell phones at Islamabad airport

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad has foiled an attempt to smuggle mobile phones including iPhone 5 and Samsung Notepad 3 during and operation at Benazir Bhutto Shaheed International Airport Islamabad.

According to the details, the Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad received an information that an attempt to smuggle mobile phone would be made through a flight No. NL-224 on Benazir Bhutto Shaheed International Airport, Islamabad.

On the information, the raiding party was constituted under supervision of Superintendent Arshad Javed which intercepted a passenger Muhammad Naeem trying to clear his baggage through green channel and checked his baggage.

During the search, 170 sets of mobile phones including 139 iPhone 5, 31 of Samsung notepad 3 and other accessories were recovered. The customs has registered FIR against the accused by arresting him, while further investigation is underway.
