LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-smuggling has adjourned the hearing of a famous gold smuggling case for next week for indictment.
Muhammad Rizwan was on a judicial remand for 14 days and before this he was in the custody of Customs investigation team that grilled the accused to find more persons behind smuggling.
Earlier, the Customs Preventive had confiscated seven kilogram of gold from a passenger at the Allama Iqbal International airport. Muhammad Rizwan son of Hadayatullah, who is a resident of Kot Khawaja Saeed, Lahore was booked by the Customs airport authorities when they recovered 600-tola gold worth Rs 30 million from his possession. The passenger was coming from Dubai by Emirates flight EK-622.
The customs authorities had registered a case against him under Pakistan customs act of 1969.
