LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has adjourned hearing of a case filed against two female suspects who are allegedly involved in smuggling of 14 kilograms gold and currency from Multan International Airport.
Sources told Customs Today that the customs team recovered 14 kilograms gold which was worn by both women in shape of jewellery along with 39,000 Saudi riyals and United Arab Emirates Dirham.
Multan customs had seized the gold and foreign currency worth Rs64.6 million and lodged an FIR and arrested them on the charges of smuggling and money laundering.
Earlier, the former Customs Special Judge Chaudhry Ameer Muhammad Khan had approved their physical remand and then sent them to jail on judicial trial.
Both arrested females are in jail for their judicial trial and the Court of Customs Taxation and Anti Smuggling has rejected their bail pleas.
